Nomination forms are typically made available in the spring each year. They must be completed and returned by the deadline indicated - typically in the early fall.
A panel of volunteer judges convenes to review and select the inductees for the current year. A formal Induction Ceremony is held in the winter at the Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park -- the official home of the LIVHoF.

NOTE: After 10 years of induction ceremonies, the initiative was necessarily suspended in order to address community needs impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Efforts are underway to investigate the possibility to restore the program.
