About the Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame
The Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to honor volunteers whose efforts led to the founding of local nonprofit organizations, as well as outstanding lifetime achievers in volunteerism.
Our History
The Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame was founded in 2002 with a simple but powerful mission: to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary volunteers who have shaped Long Island's nonprofit landscape.
For 10 years, we inducted individuals at in-person events who demonstrated exceptional commitment to their communities — people who founded nonprofits, led charitable organizations, or gave decades of selfless service to causes ranging from hunger relief to environmental protection. We are moving toward a virtual platform to re-launch the initiative.
Our inductees come from all walks of life and all corners of Long Island. What unites them is a shared dedication to making our community a better place to live for everyone.
